TYPE monoprint by Jim Sherraden Hatch Show Print Master Printer, signed in pencil: This is a celebration of typography, history and print. The large wood type used for this monoprint was cut at Hatch Show Print, circa 1885. This type has flare, and it's unmistakable, even in the 21st century after so many great typefaces have come along. Each print requires four passes through the press, one for each letter, and each letter was inked by hand. The ink, somewhat transparent to celebrate the layers of color, is mixed by hand, too, with intentional variations in the ink, so that each print unique and is a riot of gorgeous color. TYPE measures approximately 26" x 40"
